USB hand crank dynamo charger from eBay - Test & Review

This cheap gadget is only good as an emergency charger for your small powerbank (2600mAh) and NOT for your phone. Use this when there is no one around, the sound coming out from this thing is really annoying!!!!!! Why it cannot charge your mobile phone? The USB crank charger can output 0.2A (0.25A max) which is not enough to charge any phone. An ordinary phone requires at least 0.7A of current to charge. How long does it take to fully charge 2600mAh powerbank? You have to continuously crank at least 13 hours non-stop. Calculation: Powerbank capacity: 2600mAh USB crank charger: output 200mA 2600mAh / 200mA = 13 hours. In actual fact you need to crank longer due to current leakage and resistance within the electric conductor.

dude just crank the dynamo for 5 min for your powerbank
-
Well then you just crank it for 13 hours straight, sir. There's nothing wrong with your device, have a good day.

You can slow charge with very low amperage.
But the voltage is too low for smartphones. -
glad u did what u did. nice to see people out there like yrself

About 4 hand cranks are enough to produce 1A of maximum cranking
-
0.50 Amps required to charge a phone - 0.25 Amps/Crank= 2 hand cranks???
-
0.5 Amps - 0.25 Amps= 0.25 Amps short= 50% of the required amperage to charge a phone
This means the crank has about 30-400 more ohms than the phone charger. -
I tried the same as you, but as I know nothing about electronics just replace the circuit board of the dynamo by a car charger circuit board. as had 2 home I ended up doing. today there plates ready on ebay that makes this function. "DC-DC Step-Up Module 3V to 5V 1A USB Boost Supply Board".

+someone who cares
Definitely some currents are consumed by the LED. The gear inside produce lots of friction to crank the dynamo. -
can it charge an older non smart phone ?
