Top 10 Things To Take On An Epic Ride
Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
Heading out for an all-day ride in the wilderness? Here are some essential things we recommend to take with you. Click here to subscribe to GMBN: http://gmbn.eu/Subscribe You will hopefully never need some of the things on this list, but just having things like a first aid kit and some extra warm clothing will really come in useful if something unpredictable happens on a long ride. It's also really good to carry spares like brake pads, cables and even a mech hanger with you, because if these things do fail on you it could mean the end of your ride, which can also mean a very long walk back to civilisation. I ride in tropical climates and rarely does the temp get below 20c overnight, key thing is water water and more water replace, base layers and silver blanket. I take Electrolytes and even salt tablets to replace what you sweat out. Obvious spares and I download pdf format maps in case there is no signal.

I throw in one cleat bolt. have had friends lose one on the ride.

is there a good brand of carbohydrate supplement powder for water that you'd reccomend?

What size pack would you say is an ideal size for rides lasting for 3 to 4 hours? I'm thinking of going for an Evoc fr lite which is 10L as I like the back protection also.
Thanks. -
I love the always care a patch kit and they are pretty light when the one you were holding was pretty heavy its a bloody multi tool!
-
You should also take a look lighter, pen knife and a compass ( even if you have got a sunnto core) .
-
should I always pack a pump even though I have tubeless tires
-
Always bring corned beef!

Do you guys have a video on what gear to wear? helmet, knee, elbow? long sleeve vs short sleeve jersey? etc. Thanks a bunch for the videos :)

Would you mind doing a review about the Evoc backpack you have there, or multiple if you have them? I am doing my very best to find reviews about those smaller (6-10L) backpacks, but I haven't found any good ones, except those where they open the backpacks for like 10 seconds. It would really help me out making the choice for a bigger backpack than the one I have now (the CC 3L). I appreciate all the videos you have made yet! :)

Brake pads, seriously? You should check these every now and then, it's not like they disappear during one ride...

I wanted to send some GMBN t-shirts to my friends back in the USA (http://gmbn.eu/shopgmbn) but at £27.70 per, maybe not. I suppose if I am unwilling to spend $41.36 on a t-shirt for a friend, maybe I need better friends. All kidding aside, thanks for all the great videos GMBN!

A couple chain links can also be helpful
-
That looks like an Edge 510, not much use for navigation...
-
I also bring a lighter and a firearm.
-
There's some more or less universal derailleur hangers. Kinda nice since its more likely to fit mates bike as well just in case.
-
Now that we have a first aid kit, can you teach us how to go off drops (ledges) properly?
-
good video but it's so hard to look happy

Missing the incase of emergency card/braclet/something. Not something you like to think about but if you are in a situation depending on the kidness of strangers it will help them and you loads.
