This week on the Bearded Bike Tip I do a recommendation and review of the simply amazing Park Tool Cyclone Chain Scrubber. This awesome ... gadget(?) is simply the best way to get your chain clean. Available for around $20 on Amazon.com : http://amzn.to/1cHEHsc Or you can find it in most local bike shops.

Excellent review! I just used the Cyclone to clean my mountain bike chain, awesome value!

is the degreaser just a regular kitchen/domestic general degreaser? or is it like a special chain one? also what would be the australian equivelent thanks
-
I've been trying to find out on youtube but never get any definitive answers. Yes, you mentioned to rinse off the chain with water after degreaser, but then how to make sure it is thoroughly dry before relubing and how long will it take to completely dry (will it ever completely dry between the link plates?) and then will rust form before relubing?

You're overselling it dude, tone it down hey

you can get them from jenson its a little cheaper

If you're a roadie, you don't really ever have to clean the chain unless you get caught in the rain if you use a proper lubricant. The spray-on lubes that were mentioned in the video attract dirt and are worthless in my opinion. Hot-dipping the chain in a mixture of 70% paraffin and 30% motor oil lubricates a chain for at least 400 miles and at the end of that time, all you have to do is hot-dip the chain again. Shifting is much better than with the spray-on lubes too. I've been doing this for almost 20 years.

Thanks for this excellent review. I bought one.

Seems like my chain slips off the chain ring whenever I use this tool. What am I doing wrong?

great reviewer!

What's your opinion on dry (PTFE) lubes? I've been using dry lube and my chain has been much cleaner even after a few hundred miles than it was with wet lube.

Just bought mine, thanks for the review. Im sure Ill love the product

Most of those videos are useless coz most people don't have a place, where they could drop all those camicals on the floor.
-
rad! Thanks, just bought one!
-
Aren't the actual brushes inside the thing going to get dirty after some time?
-
Great product

Flips off the camera at :40 seconds...secret language meaning "Fuck this asshole that gave me this thing for Christmas"

You said 'arse' - unusual for an American!

Wonder how this compares with non branded varieties...

This tool is great. But it comes second after having two chains. Leave one in a solvent jar. You just swap it every week. It will almost double your drive-train's lifetime. If one chain brakes, you have the other one, adapted to the wear of your gears and chain-rings.
