Specialized Pitch 650b Review
Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
This is a review of the Specialized Pitch 650b in wildcat canyon. It is a great bike and a great trail. This is not a technical review, the company channel has a great one of those you can look up, this is a real world review. You could spend a grand on a full suspension bike and miss a rent payment, you could buy a bike from Big 5 for 250 that has the breaks fail going downhill, or you could get a great deal on a great quality bike from the Peddler on San Pablo Dam Rd. sure, it has to be blaze orange and yellow, but....

Great vid and I like the background music!
I think I'll get a Pitch since they don't offer a 27.5 Rockhopper -
Nice review, i just ordered one in my size and can't wait for it. Specialized has their March 2016 spring sale on right now, I got mine for $625 instead of the usual $800. Your review confirmed that my decision was a solid one. thanks from the Beast Coast

I've had a Specialized Ptich 650B for 1 year now. Its good as my first real mountain bike. Will get a full suspension next. Yeah, the pedals that came with it suck. I had to replace them within 2 months. Other than that the bike is great, no complaints really. Another super great upgrade is to get wider tires than the 2.0" it came with. Makes a noticeable difference in traction, especially in the typical east bay dirt conditions. Yeah you got a good deal on your bike.

Thanks for the review video! I think people have been hoping for more info. on the Pitch 650b for some time now.
I just recently bought one too, and have really been enjoying it. I too, broke a pedal though, about a week or two after buying the bike. But mine surprisingly broke on a shallow incline as I was approaching the top of a climb. I replaced the cheap, plastic, stock pedals with some aluminum alloy pedals by Fit Bike Co. They are very durable and have replaceable grip pins, so they will hopefully last.
The bike itself has been very impressive and confidence inspiring, just like you say in the video. The aggresive frame geometry and formidable components really put this bike above the normal "entry level" performance usually found at this price point. I have put it through its paces and it handles it great and begs for more, so far. It also handles great in the air! I can jump higher, farther, & with more style & confidence than I was ever able to on any of my previous bikes.
I've been able to avoid flat tires because I upgraded to thorn resistant tubes at point of sale, for a discounted price and also had the bike shop add slime sealant, just in case. I recently broke the chain guard/bash guard on a rock, but it's just a plastic guard so, no surprise there. I will replace it soon with an alum. alloy upgrade to better protect my chainrings.
The color of the bike was the only downfall at first. But it has really grown on me and now, I don't think I would change it even if I could. It is an attention getter, that's for sure, and it would be hard for a motorist to not see you on the road.
I highly recommend the Pitch 650b. It's definitely better than the average "entry level" mountain bike, but at an entry level price. You will be hard pressed to find an equally equipped & capable bike at this price point. -
good to know I wasn't doing it wrong. A week spot on an otherwise nice bike. worth upgrading for sure. What kind did you get?
