When you remove the adapter or unscrew your hand pump from the presta valve, sometimes you will accidentally remove the valve core too. So carry needle nose pliers with you to get the core out from your pump and do it all over again. Secondly, if you are only topping up the pressure, be very careful not to touch the needle/pin when putting the adapter or pump in place. If you touch the pin you will be letting a lot of air out.

I confess I am stupid and that video helped. Don't' hit me out there/

Thanks! There were no directions on how to install the Slime adapter I bought. BTW, can you leave the adapter on?
-
You say to remove the adaptor after use. Can you keep the adaptor on permanently? If not, why would you ever need two of them (I just ordered a 2 pack). And fat chance I would ever find the things the next time a need a pump.

Thanks for doing this video. I just bought a Centurion bike a Goodwill that has Presta valves and dead flat tires. I was wondering if there was such a thing as an adapter to convert Presta to a Schrader valve. I've got an old fashioned tire pump with a brass screw-on fitting for a Schrader valve. Now, I know what to look for.

I FUCKING HATE Presta valves. Nothing but trouble. Bend to easy, picky with the pumps. Half to fiddle with it for 10 minutes and they seem lose all air in like 2 days. HATE HATE HATE THEM!

hmm on the presto valve, ah heck well they r still a mystery to me.. lol the air stays in with the little doo dad un screwed?, and what would be advantageous by having a presto valve?

Thank you!! You really helped me!!! 😀😀

thanks dude. really helpful.

Thank you so much for the excellent video covering the Schrader and Presta Valves. I also apreciate that you took the time to clearly show how to put the Presta Valve adaptor on. I can think of no good reason for any bike to have a Presta Valve. They are too delicate and finicky for my tates and don't offer any real advantage over the tried and true Schrader valve. In any case, thanks again for the video.

Thank you very much. As I am a presta valve novice this video was incredibly helpful.

Hello, I have a quick question. I have a Schrader valve self sealing tube and when I try to fill the tube with air, my pump builds up pressure and can't fill up the tube. I have the valve locked on and pressed down while I'm pumping. Any ideas? I don't have the money for a new tube or I'd buy a new one.

Hi, Peter, your voice embodies almost all that I wanted to know about this: except for the matter of the central threaded core of the Presta valve bending and subsequently snapping off, along with the brass end-closure nut, after, according to our local bicycle shop, failing to engage the pumphead sufficiently at right angles to the shaft of the valve. This caused damage to the inner tube: you don't mention taking this precaution: why is that?

I have an adapter like this that I tried to use to read the pressure in my presta valve tubes. The only pressure gauges available on the market here in Bahrain are for Schrader valves. Any advice? It seems the adapter only works for putting air in...but not for checking pressure (with a car type Schrader gauge)

Thanks bro this was awesome I kept putting it upside down much respect and thanks my friend.

Thank you so much! I've learned so much watching your video. Thought I was going to have to get another pump but learned from your video mine will work just fine!

Awesome instructional video. Had two flat tires with valve stems I had never seen before (which thanks to you I now understand are "presta" valves) Now I can ride my bike again! -Thank you!
