Thank you. Couldn't have done it without your help.
-
In the Video he uses suspension oil but the Tech Manual he refers to says to use grease I think he should do it like the Tech Manual or re right the Tech manual.
-
Ahhh. I think you have a step in the reassembly wrong? There is a repeat of the Air Spring reassembly... slightly confusing.
-
How often should you service reba forks?
-
Just a suggestion, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I would really like to have the links you refer to in the video in the comments area. I had to pause and type them manually.

Hi Rock Shox,
On 2012 revelation do I still add 6 ml or 5wt oil to the air spring? I can't find any military grease that you recommend as per your manual. Thank you and pls respond -
Hi froochie123, I tried that on a SID '98 generation that I tried to restore. All I can say is, that's a really bad idea, and you won't be saving any money at all. The O-rings you get at the hardware stores are not made of the same material as the Rock Shox seals, and are not as durable. They either react to the oil and grease, become soft as putty or disintergrate. When this happens, and you're riding, ita dammges the bushings and scores inside of the stantions. Then you can buy a new fork.
-
Have you tried contacting Specialized about that. They must be able to tell you where to get them from. Or a even supply you with the kit that you require. May be expensive though.
-
Hi Jannik, if you look on the back of the fork crown, you see a serial number. For example: U 7 04 12345 The U is the factory where the fork was manufactured The 7, is the year that the fork was made The 04 is the month it was made. The 12345 is the forks individual I.D. number. I hope you have a fork where the first numder is 9, 10 or higher as the prodution year, An 8 or lower will make it dificult to get service kits, and spare parts. Not all seals & parts are identical for every year.
-
How do you find out which year's Reba you have? I am not sure because I got one cheap in very good condition about a year ago.
-
Could you please do a Air U Turn spring Service video
-
just 6 ml to the spring, 15ml to both shafts before you screw them together on the bottom.
-
the manual calls for 15ml of oil in bottom of spring side and 6 ml in the top ??
-
show all steps man :(((
-
As a general rule no, you shouldn't use any grease as the additives in most greases will degrade and form a sticky film on the moving parts. Stick to using oil. You can use a little grease on the top caps to prevent them seizing in place, but elsewhere it shouldn't be needed.
-
I'm just in process of Reba 2008 Dual Air self-service and one thing is strange. Can anybody confirm that really no grease should not be applied on any of the parts? No grease application in the Technical manual as well. Thanks
-
@motorbiking have you tried some other brand of O rings like you find at the hardward store. I'm sure they have the same sizes...
-
I have the 2012 rock shox SID brain fork on my S-Works epic and I can't seem to find any service kits to service fork. Rock shoxs website does not refer to the brain fork type damper.

greetings! : ))

Its a shame you can't buy a seal only kit Air service kit from SRAM. The full air service kit is about £22-25 ($35-40), when 9/10 you only need the 3 rubber seals. When you add a Moco kit as well its pretty expensive for a half a dozen rubber seals
