Mtb Stem, long or short ?

Should you keep that long mtb stem on your bike? If your a trail rider that enjoys the downhill/single track sections, you may want to change out that stem to a shorter one. Enjoy and happy biking...

Good info mate! Just changed my 100mm to 50mm and I fell much more comfortable with that... thanks again!

Well explained. I changed from a 100mm to a 50mm. It's like a different bike. I love it.
-

I ride cube with short stem, but think i want a slightly longer stem to have a more active sit.
-
Why would you use music (with voices) for an explaining video :s
-
i went for longer stem because the bike shop suggested me to ride xtra small bike. Stupid !!

I just got a Cannondale trail 5 size L about 2 weeks ago. I'm in NYC & haven't hit any trails with it yet but I've notice my arms feel really stretched out to far & my thumbs sort of hurt while riding & my hands start to feel numb. Shorter stem I believe would ease this discomfort. Great video! Very informative.

I couldn't watch all of this for the reason that you keep looking away from the camera before you speak. Imagine if someone was talking to you and they looked to the side and only looked at you when they spoke !! Believe me you would find that very uncomfortable.!! Sorry .

I believe that since a shorter stem allows you to lift easier, the longer stem will help weight the front tire in turns better than the shorter stem. Simple leverage laws apply. Good video, terrible background music.
