The MountCase 2 for iPhone 6 Plus is a case designed to securely mount on your bike, as well as other specialized mounts. It is a breeze to get on and off its various mounts and seems very stable when mounted. This review looks only at the MountCase 2 case--the specific mounts will be addressed in a separate video. Many thanks go out to Tigra Sport for sending us this sample to review. What comes in the box? The MountCase 2 case, and a device called the RainGuard, which is an optional cover for the front and sides of the MountCase 2 that can be used in somewhat wet or dusty conditions. It is not waterproof, but it offers protection against splashes and a little bit of rain. It also provides a bit more drop protection to the case as it covers the screen and adds some padding to the sides. Made of a soft, slightly cloudy plastic, it won't win any beauty contests. It gives you only limited touchscreen functionality and the screen looks a bit blurry underneath the plastic. However, if it starts to rain when you are out biking, you will be very happy to have the RainGuard in place! The case itself is a fairly standard stiff TPU/polycarbonate composite case that should provide modest protection in the event of a drop. Port openings are well placed, if a little on the small side, and buttons are all covered, with the exception of the mute switch. All the real excitement with this case is in the mounting connection on the back of the case. This connection point projects out of the back of the case a bit in order to accommodate the mounts that need to connect into it. Essentially, it is a 'female' mount connection point and the male mounts get inserted into the connection point and then lock into place with a clockwise turn. This system, called Twist-Lock, works quite well. To unlock the mount, simply turn it in a counter-clockwise direction. It is important to note that the bike mount, being the mounting system operated in the most hazardous environment, has an additional safety feature that must be engaged in order to unlock the mount, as well as having an additional lock for extra security. But the upshot of all this is that the twist-lock mounting system that the MountCase 2 uses is easy to use and quite secure. Pros: * Secure, easy to use mounting system * Practical RainGuard cover is easy to take on and off and can provide crucial protection in the event of an unexpected rain shower. * TPU MountCase 2 is solidly built and fits the iPhone 6 Plus like a glove Cons: * The connector on the back side of the phone makes the phone unable to lie flat on its back, which is not a deal-killer, but a bit irritating. Overall, this case works well and is part of an excellent mounting system. There even appears to be a 15% off coupon available as of 2/20/15: http://www.amazon.com/Tigra-Sport-RainGuard-MountCase-iPhone/dp/B00PSNVPVC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1424472110&sr=8-3&keywords=mountcase+2 Note that the MountCase 2 is Tigra Sport's middle duty case. It is intended for biking around town, road biking, etc. For mountain biking, Tigra Sport offers the BikeConsole, which offers much greater protection…at a much greater size. I will be reviewing that system later. Thanks for watching!
