This guys information is completely wrong and bias based upon his own experience, not that of a customers, or series of customers. First off, Clipless is for anyone who wants to be more efficient on an uphill climb, or long distance. Flat pedals are great for those who enjoy having their feet free to do what ever they want, its a complete feel thing. I know buddies who hate clipless because they feel trapped on the bike, its their personal experience. as for the last pedal, its not a hybrid, or a switch pedal(switch pedals are clipless on one side and flat on the other)what he has is a clipless pedal with a platform. these are used really for control during jumps and winding trails that require more control of the bike. honestly this guy is talking out his ass.
TBH, if you want to know what pedal is best for you, try them all, figure out what style you like to ride, borrow or buy second hand before you dump a load of cash on pedals and shoes. -
What a terrible video
-
What downhill rider would want to be clipped in??? "Let me plant my foot around this sharp berm.. oh no never fucking mind im clipped in"
-
Please, stop spreding your lack of knowledge, that's why new bikers think that clipless somehow are always an improvement and 29ers the "best bike experience"... u make me sick. hahahaha

You have more controll when your not cliped in actually as you can move your feet around which is better for technical terain. Learn your shit before you make a video i have a a 15 page packet all about why flat pedals are better.

RETARD!where do they get these guys? Note to self,do not buy from this weboN.

Edgar, they are Azonic 420 pedals. They are a little pricey. VP makes good pedals too. I use VP-001, they are very grippy, maybe to much grip for some. But online pricing is reasonable, around $47. I might be going to a VP-59 which is easier to reposition on, but more expensive. I am not sponsored by anyone; I just look for the best bang for my buck when I want stuff.

what brand and model are the red platform pedals in this video?

And there's no way to get the 2:38 of my life back. Wow. I ride a lot of XC, so I clip in. If ur out jumping, or riding hard DH get some good, light platforms (no clips). Clips make those long steep climbs faster. Your legs get the benefit of a full 360° pedal stroke. You can also let one leg rest while letting the other carry the load (unless ur one-legged). Clipping in just gives you more options to ur pedal stroke. It's more efficient. It takes some practice (on grass). Cheers.
