The shorts use a combination of water and wind resistant polyester on the main body of the shorts to protect you from the elements combined with a stretchable, breathable Xpandx on the under panel to ensure freedom of movement. There are two side zip pockets, two rear patch pockets and two cargo pockets on the legs, so you have plenty of storage for phones, maps and knick knacks. Leg vents on the front of the shorts can be easily unzipped to increase airflow, there is leg adjustment with Velcro strap and a reflective strip on each leg. The waistband has a button top fastener, zip fly and an integral adjustable belt with quick release buckle.
