you will need some time and patience!! its all in the preparation to how good a finish you will end up with!! matt black is a simple shade to use!! for a beginner to. materials you will need- degreaser hot/warm water wet/dry sand paper,250 grit,600,800,1200 scotch pads tools to remove parts paint, etch primer, matt black rattle cans (local automotive store) if you can remove the parts yourself then time and a little money can be saved here. or a trip to the local cycle shop is needed! any questions then please feel free to ask me!! will do my best to answer and advise you! thanks for watching! Dude, How many coats of paint did you do and how many cans did you use? I have the exact same frame to re-spray, had it since new. I don't suppose you know what size of head set you put in?

Your paint job looks great thanks for the vid share, let me ask, did you sand the paint before you finished the black flat? or did you just let it dry and that was it? obvioulsy you put no clear coat on top of the paint either ... right?

hi does the primer leave like a gritty residue when u put it on? mine does

So I won't need to remove the old red paint on my bike just sand and put primer and the new paint on it?

Thanks for your quick response! Would you recommend somewhere like Halfords for the primer? Where did you get yours? I'll make sure that I rub the wheels with the Scotch pad. Do I need to rub at the wheels with the pad until the paint comes off? Thanks again!

Awesome video, man. Can you answer a question for me please? I'm thinking of painting my bike wheel rims and I want to clarify whether it is only primer and my desired paint colour spray - is that true? Do I not need clear coat too? Further, where do you buy your primer? Thanks!

Hello. Is that an inner tube you've stretched over the seat collar? Good idea.

you scared me when you show'd us your face

Hey great video! I live in Miami Fl, just stripped down my felt tk2. do you think using a 2 in 1, primer+paint is a good idea? i mean i did the rims and they came out nice. but i would like your opinion on the frame. thanks brother.

should wear a mask paint can go into your system

No Paint drip's or marks from spraying so close and with heavy first coat like that. I paint bike's all the time and I would never paint the whole bike in one shot. Small even coats. I guess that's why it takes me a week and this is done in a autobody shop. No drips?

I agree, that it is all in the prep work. Degreasing, sanding, then degreasing again to get rid of all the hidden wax buildup is a must. The finish rivals my matte black powder coated paint job, but 1/15th the cost of a powder coat. Although the finish might be less scratch resistant, a thorough prep job would prevent the lifting of the paint in the form of bubbles, because of some remaining wax or grease build up in the nooks and crannies. Also, nice carbon wheels and carbon bottle cages in black, which gives your bike a stealth look.
