You'll get sunburn rolling your sleeves up like that. I never felt the need for a base layer either, sure fire way to give yourself heat stroke
-
Just go to ShepherdSurvives webpage if you'd like to learn how to it correctly.

I live in the mountains just near Valencia in Spain... All that was said still isnt enough. I have had to buy specific lightweight jerseys with full length zips, lightweight shorts. A GUTR headband, LOTS of liquids, even for a 1 hr ride (with 335m elevation). But most of all you MUST pace yourself. You cant just blast up trails in the heat. Even though you feel fine, 10 minutes later you just crash and you crash hard!

Try riding in Australia but you get used to it

When i ride in freezing temperatures i still pretty much overheat. Summer can be a pain because 1, i don't want to ride in the pouring rain and 2, it can't be hotter than 20 degrees c or i am going to die from the heat.
Basically, the best time to ride for me is when the temperature is around 5-10 degrees C and the sun is shining because it's the most comfortable at both ends of the spectrum.
Winter with freezing temperatures is obviously best for constant work for me. But it's a PITA when rolling downhill as there's no heat being generated at that point and i actually freeze instead.
So it's a fight between wearing adequate clothing in winter to be able to roll downhill but also having light enough clothing to climb a hill. Most of the time (since i also live on the tallest mountain in the area) i freeze my ass off leaving home and then when going back home i am drenched in sweat through all layers of clothing making winter the nastiest smelly months for me, despite summer time being the most sweaty time of the year. This because i wear perforated short sleeves in summer for obvious reasons so that's the only clothing that gets drenched. -
if you kill yourself you can stay cool

This video is hilarious. Stop in the shade! I assume it's a parody right?

For heat come and try riding in South China -- lethal and sweaty...
-
crooked helmet MARK!!!!
-
Wait... Base layer, bib shorts, baggy shorts AND a long sleeved shirt on a HOT day? I sometimes wear less than that when I'm riding in the snow..
-
Ride with a SPRUZZA! It allows you to keep your drinking water to drink and not waste it on dumping to cool
-
where was this filmed?

I found out that long sleeves cool me better. But it has to be lightweight quickdry UV protection fabric. Lighter the better, fluoro the best
-
one shalt not wear black when the sun is blazing down
-
don't forget sunblock, it was 40 degrees here in Malta recently
-
BEAUMONT!
-
tried it dosent work in singapore lol
best solution : Tank top and shorts HAHA -
Be driving home before 1030am or ride ending with lights after 6pm

1. use light-coloured single layer top.
2. sun block optional (depending on time of day).
3. ventilated helmet.
4. helmet liner to keep sweat out of eyes.
5. Use bottles with insulation (e.g. polar bottle). Under heat normal bottles get warm in less than 1 hour.
6. shorter socks might help.
7. dark sports sunglasses. -
As we do in Brazil, choose a trail with river crossings and waterfalls!
