How to convert a geared bike to single speed, fixed gear
Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
This video shows you how to convert a geared bike to a single speed fixed gear bike. The conversion kit used is from a company called Outland. The rear cogg is a 17t the front is a 34t cogg using a 2:1 ratio. Ring sizes can be changed to gear the bike higher or lower.

where can I order all this? and how much did it cost you?
-
Where did you get your conversion kit from?

I bought myself a nice bike. A Trek Madone 5.5. Super ultra light carbon bike, love it. But its a single speed and where I live I need to go up and down quite a lot, therefore I would love to have it geared (doesnt have to be super sick with 30 gears but at least 2-3 or so). Is it possible to do that? Also, the pedals always move when you are driving, which means that you simply can never just "relax" your feets which I really hate as I am very used to relax my feets when I want to slow down or when I am in front of a red light and so on... can I fix that too?

You sound like a fucking computer.

it didnt sound very smooth.
good video tho -
don't follow this method for finding the chainline. it's just plain wrong. put a straight edge on front chain wheel
-
Easy and simple guide. Helps so much! :)
-
this is single speed, not fixed gear!
-
Marvelous. What brand are the spacers and chain tensioner?
-
You can also put a strait edge on the chainring and see where it winds up on the freehub body. The trick is to get enough of a flat area on the chainring for accuracy.
-
It isn't actually fixed
-
can you use an eccentric hub instead of a chain tensioner? how would this work?
-
Will the conversion kit work on a freewheel threaded hub?
-
I'm pretty sure 'cogg' only has one 'g'

Nice guide video :3 . . . . I have a mountain bike, do I only need the single gear conversion kit like the one you showed and apply on my bike, and it would still have the ability to be able to pedal backward freely?
Thanks -
