Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
The GCN Bike Fit series continues, with more great insights from three time Olympian and now pro bike fitter Oli Beckingsale, and our own Daniel Lloyd. This week we look at just how a rider should choose the correct size of frame. There are a lot of variables between individual riders as well. So how can you get the correct size of frame? Well, there is no replacement for swinging your leg over a few different bike manufacturers, but to get you in the ball park, there are some simple tests you can do to see which designs will suit you the most. why dan looks like he is cgi in this video?

If you're standing over the bike and the bar is touching your groin, is the bike necessarily too big? Although this is the size that was recommended to me by the bike shop, it just seems so big. I dunno.

Soooo helpful! The bottom line: trial-and-error........

I'm kind of from the old school of bike fit. I fit my first bike based on Greg Lemond's book back in the late 80s. I like a long reach and have very short legs for my height. So I have a very low seat. But it's comfortable for me. I can stand over the top tube flat footed but there's no space between. Once you have the saddle height and fore/aft correct, isn't it really just personal preference pretty much from there??
With the current trend toward the tiny frame and super high seat, I don't see any way I could get comfortable on that. I'd feel so bunched up. My legs are too short to EVER have the seat as high as all the pros (and you guys) ride today.
What HAS precipitated the move to the tiny frames, super high seat? -
My road bike is 46 cm and Im 6'1 long limbs man. Is that weird?!
-
Korean riders tend to go for a smaller size with an assumption that shorter reach will provide more ride comfort. But conversely, smaller frames have lower front ends, which makes a long ride more painful.
-
how about just following the size guide suggested by the manufacturers. It's universal for all riders.

wow this video sure is explained in every detail. thanks!

so my friend is giving me his bike that measures 48cm and I'm a 50cm. would I still be able to ride it If I adjust seat and raise the handle bars?

>Makes a video about choosing the right size
>Talks about anything you really don't care about
Those videos are for beginners, just give a straight forward answer, because "what fits you best" is an answer my grandma can give me too. Most people watching your videos are new to cycling, and get no help from a vague answer. Really, you have great videos up, but this is literally the ABC, and you managed to make it a mess with this "expert". -
Good doping doctor is also really important, make sure he gets you fitted for the right gear:)

Im 178 cm tall , should i get a size 52 or 54 bike, i seem that i fall inbetween these 2 size. I 've learned the next smaller size is better than the nxt larger size. Is it true?

I have been looking for a road bike, and my stand over seems to be a 46 or a 47 cm. but my reach seems to be more like a 52 or 53 cm. Is the a brand that might be built more for a short but long reach ?
