At the end of the day It's a Mountain Bike! Cosmetic damage has to be expected ! My Bike is nearly a year old and has a scratched fork,, the top handlebar screws heads half ground off, one side of the frame downtube gouged (Trance 2 ) seat with a bit of wear and other marks here and there . I try to look after it but you can't wrap them in cotton wool.

Just went to buy a second hand bike and doing all these things, the guy looked at me stupid and told me to f**k off
-
Why didn't I see this vid before
-
What if the wheel is true bet one of the spokes us really loose
-
If my back wheel is badly buckled but doesnt rub on anything and moves freely shall i take it to my local bike shop to true it or shall i true it myself also it does move freely but its really close to touching the frame
Aswell a realy big fan -
What is the bike he has in the video i like it

There's a used DH bike I'm looking at, but the ad says the fork motion "isn't smooth." What kind of ungodly thing could make a fork not smooth? It is a Boxxer World Cup from 2009, so it's had plenty of time for things to go wrong...

The only thing I liked about this video was your accent! It was an informative video of what to look for on potentially buying a used bike - but it was done on a bike that was already intact and well maintained. It would have been more helpful (for me) if you had a 2nd bike that was in very poor condition to be able to have a comparison to see exactly the damage you are speaking of. I'm a visual learner - so although I understood everything you were saying - I stopped watching after the first minute because I couldn't "see" what you were talking about. Please keep in mind for your next video(s) people who are "new" to the bike world. Thanks!

Hi GMBN team here in India we don't do so much cycling , but it's changing gradually . I m panning to get new GT avalanche 2016 sport as it is coming in my budget - please suggest how is this bike for beginners . I would be biking after almost 15 years.

Another thing missed on the video is to take the wheels off.... Bought my bike 2nd hand to find that my front axle is cross threaded.
-
Very useful tips, not just for buying new bike but also sounds like a good checklist to make sure the bike you own is in good shape.
-
What about if you were to buy off of eBay meaning that you only see the pictures

Fucking love my ML8 and 970ZX. Got them used and loving it!

@3:21 you mention to push and pick up the front end to check if the fork is topping out. Could you please elaborate on that? What are you checking for? And how can that be fixed??
