Click here to subscribe to GMBN: http://gmbn.eu/subscribe Bunnyhopping is a key skill when riding a Mountain Bike and it's very important for getting over obstacles, jumping and riding technical terrain like rocks and roots. The technique should be the same for all bikes- full suspension, hardtails and from clip-less pedals to flats. The key to the perfect mountain bike bunnyhop is using your weight and position on the bike to lift the bike rather than using your strength to just throw the bike in the air and over whatever obstacle is in front of you. Start by working on the pump and the manual. This stage forms the first part of the bunnyhop and allows you to get your front wheel in the air. Once you have this dialled, work on getting your rear wheel up and in the air. If you're using clipless pedals it's really important not to cheat this stage by just jumping. Get your rear wheel in the air on your mountain bike by pushing back on the pedals and dipping your toes. With each stage dialled individually, begin to combine them. The perfect place to practice this essential skill is somewhere relatively flat like a fireroad or park. Have you mastered the bunnyhop? Let us know down in the comments! It's possible to do the jump with a EMTB?
Or it's too heavy? -
is there any easy way to bunny hop on a climb?

I have a Scott Genius. I've seen all the tutorials about bunny hop but I find it impossible for me. No matter how far I put my weight down and back, I've never lifted the front wheel.
I have observed that tall guys can do this more easily. I'm 1'72 m tall and my bike size is S but I think a smaller size would have fit better to me. Mainly to try this trick. -
Do you need a dropper post on a manual and bunnyhop.
-
do I have to point my toes down to scoop the rear or just jump

I've been riding for a few years, but in the last season two seasons, I've really tried to improve my skill. given my current budget, all I have is a rigid '90s MTB which I have upgraded in some areas to make it a little better. compared to a friend of mine who has a nicer hardtail, I have a difficult time with bunny hops and small jumps. With the newer bike, he can pump his fork to get that recoil back to help him into his bunnyhop - I don't have that, so it takes much more effort and concentration. makes it difficult to avoid something on the trail. What is the best way to improve my skill? I know it's possible, and I think part of my problem is I have been focusing too hard on getting both wheels off the ground at the same time. I'm hoping to go to some MTB parks next season, and I'd like to nail my bhops by then. what can I do to improve on a rigid?

isn't it better to land on the back wheel. because at 4.00 you can see the front wheel touches first and the impact shifts the riders weight forward nearly going over the handle bars? wouldn't you rather like riding a jump land and match the landing angle with centre mass and both tire evenly down?
