You could spend 50 bucks and get a decent 1x11 tranny, but nice build.
-
very beautiful Mongoose, how did youkeep it in such perfect condition?
-
what shock is that?
-
Nice build. But why oh why did you not use the built in cable stops if you have them, seems many manufacturers are using full cables now to cut down costs and assembly.

I am now a mongoose retro expert but learnt jack shit from it

Hi Good Day!
I'm planning to setup a street MTB is there a specific frame for that or any mountain bike frame can be converted into a street MTB?
Thanks! -
I've actually got a Green Switchback frame from back in the day sitting in my bike shed. I agree they were very well made and I shunned Mongooses even back before bicycle quality fell right off the wagon in the Mid 2000s. I want to make a Single Speed just in the front (like the middle front sprocket) and keep my gears in the back - Do people do that?
-
Hey mongoosejake, nice job on that bike. I'm getting ready to start a single speed project bike and was wondering what gear ratio you used on this one. How many teeth on the front / rear?
-
For fucksake I was wanting to know how to convert to single speed not learn how fucking bikes were nade or how to maintain you bearings

I live around the corner from Tienshin - FSA factory - ha! I know some of big players there.

Roadie here in Taiwan - using a couple WTB saddles on my road bikes! Awesome stuff!

THINK
Gears are nice, sometimes there are hills.
Learn to fix your bike, respect the work people did in previous generations to put gears on bikes, learn how to fix them and think for yourself, instead of participating in fads and needing the respect of your peers to feel self worth. -
where did you get your black brake cable guides??
-
I can just say...Well done bro for making that bike.No one wants to pedal with single speed these days, and that is well preserved frame and other parts.I had myself a Trek 6000 98` and i gave to my best man,and then we made a fixie from it. Belive me MTB are awesome for that things. Thank you for showing this video. :)
