Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
http://thebiketube.com/wheel-building/part-1-how-to-36-spoke-bike-wheel http://thebiketube.com This is part 1 of a three part series that will cover lacing and truing a wheel. There is nothing like crafting something with your bare hands, especially if that something is a bike wheel. There is something inherently rewarding and zen like about wheel building so we here at thebiketube.com decided to bring the world a wheel building instructional video, enjoy! The wheel being built consists of a 36 hole hub and 36 hole rim, more info at http://www.thebiketube.com Part 2 will be posted shortly.

nipples. hahaha

If I got some spokes (a little too long) can I twist them(one spoke whole over) to get them to fit?
-
I say no. it's not your Thang dawg. Stick to the guitar.
-
nice :)
-
He starts by putting spokes through the hub flange nearest to him, one every other hole. Then he screws the first spoke in but just says "next to" the valve hole and doesn't say if the first spoke goes in the hole left of the valve hole, or right of the valve hole. I grabbed a built 36H wheel to look and that one spoke (if you have the hub facing how I say above) goes on the LEFT of the valve hole! I double checked this by flipping the wheel around and again, the spoke on my side leads up to the hole on the left of the valve hole. The spoke on the right goes to the other side of the hub entirely. I really screwed up before lol, thank god for this video.

I followed this tutorial closely and something went wrong, somewhere along the line. I ended up with spokes starting on one side of the hub, bending over a spoke from the opposite side of the hub before joining the rim - resulting in a lot of very bent spokes. I un-did them all and just copied the pattern from my old wheel instead. I don't know at which point I went wrong but the tutorial could maybe benefit from some diagrams clarifying where the spokes go, especially on the over-over-under bits. You can keep my "like" anyway ;-)

Why are you searching for how to videos if you already know how to build a wheel? Idiot..
-
Hey there, I'm looking into swapping a single speed hub for a shimano 3 gear internal hub. As long as the amount of holes are correct, do you reckon the change should be straight forward, or as straight forward as changing a front hub? Or should I be expecting way more complications? Should I look for any other specs / details? Thxs! Awesome video btw...

i wish more bike vids had music.

Thanks You Rock!!

Love the song at the end.

if i have a freewheel, and want to spoke a fixed hub in, can i re-use my spokes and nipples?

What a sick stupid degenerated american idiot a white negro !!!

Simular metals can fuse together if they are under enough friction/pressure without some lubrication (galling, I believe is what it is called). Maybe he is not rmaking references to corrosion.(?)
-
that part about similar metals fusing is totally wrong. bi metal corrosion happens much faster and more easily than similar metal corrosion which is why brass spokes are platted in nickle which has a similar composition to stainless steel spokes which are both very resistant to corrosion. really though you should just use spoke prep and that will stop any corrosion.
