Is it safe to use Loctite on the spoke nipples?
-
Dont put threadlocker on the nipples, even the medium strength is way too strong for them. If you need further trueing forgot about it, and will be a disaster if you break the rim and want to change it. You can brak many spokes by torsion failure.

Should I apply grease to my forks and rear shock?
-
Hi! My flat mtb pedals have a grease sign next to a pin in the middle of it. It doesnt seem much sense to put thick grease through that small pin-hole. What do you think if i put that ceramic lube you recommend or just some synthetic motor oil ?
-
red locktite may be a little overkill for a bike
-
WD40 and total quartz petrol motor oil. Not ideal but I have couple of liters left. Do have to degrease and lube a bit more often. Gets dirt quickly.

@askgmbn who is this guys name

I have tried the following procedure to clean my chain to be very effective (have been experimenting for several months):
1. cleaning with degreaser (gets rid of the gunk/dirt more effectively)
2. rinse with hot water (clean off the degreaser, wich can dissolve the lubricant)
3. dry with a rag
4. apply PTFE to all links (displaces water out of chain links and rollers)
5. wipe excess with rag and test-drive the bike
6. apply chain lube (the ptfe is a ligth oil, so it gets washed away pretty fast, better to use a proper lube) -
i have a dirkbike, should i use that chain lube on my mountain bike or not?

Where can I find a grease gun like that one?
-
pedal threads take copper compound just like any non moving part you don't want to seize. conventional grease when subjected to the elements can actually cake and seize parts. Bottom line, move parts = grease, non moving = copper anti seize compound.

Can you use WUD 40
-
So what kind of grease is that?
-
01:40 rusty bolt holes. I use Hard as Nails fingernail polish for bolt heads that start to rust. Black and clear, black for the rust and clear as a cheap alternative to loctite.

Since when did owning a bicycle become so complicated? We used to beat the shit outta our bicycles back in the 70s and fix them straight away too. flame away.
-
I just use Teflon spray everywhere =P Works fine.
