5 year service life and then you get life-time warranties on bike frames? They must go bankrupt soon

This was the first time ever I heard about "5 year service life" of an aluminium frame. Where did this number come from, could you refer me to the study? And what is the service life of other frame materials? Thanks.

This message just says if you're poor stop riding and your partners don't want you.

Funny and informative video. I'll never know why so many dislikes.

I'm glad to see it's only the off-roaders that need new bikes!

Not here to start a fight mate but you come off like a door to door salesman out to make a quick buck in the video. poorly presented if you ask me. Because yes safety is something that should be taken seriously as with the stress fractures in a weld, but honestly unless your a hardcore biker with hardcore biking friends i highly doubt the johnsons are gonna blow past you on a dirt trail. Unless your riding a beach cruiser bike on a mtb trail.
In which case why did you even buy a beach cruiser to begin with when a mt. bike with slicks works just as well for city flats.
Also unless your part of a racing team on roadies i am sure your buds are not gonna smoke you on the streets because you have an older bike i ride a old steel vintage roadie 28lbs and blow past the new age roadies all the time with their funky colored pink and yellow racing shorts and jerseys nothing against the get-up just the color schemes seem tacky -
5 Years?! My Dad's got his bike for over 11 Years now an it's still running properly. About 3 Months ago I changed the wheel set and bought a new bottom bracket and Crankset. All in all (due to eBay) less than 500€ including the DT Swiss 240s hub ;)
Ant this bike has been ridden for more than 50000 Kilometres
Better bikes such as Nicolai, Canyon, Cube, Ghost, Conway, Radon, etc. even offer a warranty of 5 Years or more on their frames.
And trust me, an 8 years old Nicolai bike on eBay is sometimes as good or better as a brand new MTB at the same price -
An alu frame has a service life of 5 years?? that's freaking long man! That means my grandkids probably will be able to ride my bike them i'm old! I ride about 10 hours per week, that's about 21.67 days per year (24 hour days).. that means my bike will last 84 YEARS... Shit I don't need an upgrade AT ALL. Thanks for the advice man!

Translated: "hey, dude. I see your bike is five years old. Your bike sucks and will snap and kill you and any nearby children and everyone's laughing at you and no one has 26" wheels anymore and your 10 speed drive train blows goats; how do you even get up hills? You should totally buy a new bike from my shop. It has budget parts that look like they're quality and it has a 1x11 setup which will make you shred 1.7 times better and remove women's underwear as you drift past on its 650b wheels."
Bah. I'll stick to my 5 year old Trek Scratch that I've lovingly built and know intimately. -
Come on guys this is good stuff. Hes talking about if u ride really hard. Trust me i know how it fills to hit a 25ft jump and the bike break at frame. It hurts like a bitch and can get very expensive in medical bills. I still owe about 35 grand cause i ignored this tiny little crack thinking i had the best bike in the world. Did not end well for me. Mist crack happen around the weld. Unless you have a steal frame. You got lots to worry about. And u dont have to get a new bike every 5 years. This is to just inform you that if u ride really hard make sure to check ur bike before you jump. Would you drive a car with a spare tire from Washington state to Texas?
