Dave Mirra and Dennis McCoy Inducted Into The BMX Hall Of Fame
Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
On Saturday, June 11th, both Dave Mirra and Dennis McCoy were inducted into the USA BMX Hall Of Fame. The ceremony took place down at the Olympic Training Facility in Chula Vista, California. Filled with legends of all kinds and industry heads from generations past, the event was far from something you'd find at a NORA Cup, but BMX nonetheless. Glad I got to witness Dennis McCoy get honored after 31 years of being a pro and getting to see Mike Mirra, although briefly, talk about his son was an honor. Dennis' segment is first. Dave's starts around the 17:30 mark... http://ridebmx.com

Dude! Haven't seen or even thought about vert doubles in years! Anyone remember who started freestylin' and broke into a windmill in the middle of a run?
And more importantly, we Will always remember You, Dave. -
I wrote this rhyme in honor of Dave 2 days after he passed,he was everything to me as a boy,I'm 38 now and still feel like a little kid when I think about Dave, hope you guys enjoy :
Damn Dave MIRRA,you got me looking in the MIRRA,your death has me seeing things a little CLIRRA,the lord has called you home, you're far away but your fans still feel NIRRYA.I shed a TIRRA thinking about you silently screaming for help but nobody could HIRRYA, you're a legend, and headin' to heaven so nothing left to FIRRA,god is waiting my friend, look for the sign that says welcome home Dave MIRRA. I'm a keep it going for the homie Dave MIRRA,last night me and the squad gave a toast to you and took shots of BELVEDIRRA. In your honor I'm gonna try to make 2016 the best YIRRA, I need to slow down and stop living so fast I'm always in 5th GIRRA sometimes I'm going so fast, this car gets hard to STIRRA going out of control like a pilot trying to land with no landing GIRRA. Trust me when I tell you I fight the same demons as you the ones that whisper"BirdPlan, we can help, just take your life and all the pain will DISAPIRRA". But I just let it go in one side and out the other EARRA. easier said than done cuz those demons work 24-7 like a college kid studying to be an ENGINIRRA. Damn bro just writing this brings me back to the time I ran into you at the Santa Monica PIERRA,I was star struck & talking so fast i probably sounded like an AUCTIONIRRA, couldn't help it, I was talking to my idol, the best bmx rider in the whole western HEMISPHIRRA,scratch that I meant to say the whole ATMOSPHIIRA, You would get so high riding vert I thought you was gonna run into santa and hit one of his REINDIRRA, you always gave 110% and that's why we would CHIRRA, riding hard like a boss, your nickname shoulda been PAUL REVIRRA. Writing this also brings me back to when I heard of your death I was driving home, listening to SIA's song CHANDELIRRA,and one thing became crystal CLIRRA,money aint the key to happiness cuz you had so much of it your 2nd name coulda been CASHIRRA. A lot of things right now are UNCLIRRA ,but your death woke up the the BMX world about head trauma, and your saving lives cuz my kid will never ride without wearing HEAD GIRRA. You are legend a true PIONIRRA, all your fans miss you from New York all the way to Alaska, the last FRONTIRRA ,your influence is felt worldwide I remember waiting in line to have my vision street wear hat signed and behind me was a kid from Africa, he was from ZAIRERRA,I'm just glad all your pain is gone, time to relax, have fun, show off all your x-games medals while you and god drink a cold BIRRA,I can hear him whispering to you saying,"Dave, you've had one heck of a CARIRRA,its ok to rest you're in my arms now so go ahead and sleep right HIRRA,and tonight when your wife and daughters ask me if they can see you one last time,I will make you REAPPIRRA. -
Brings a tear to me eye. BMX has come a long way. Rest easy, Dave.

Dave mirra was my idol as a kid and still is today even though I don't ride anymore much. You cannot deny his accomplishments in bmx and other events. Dave was so athletic and strong and he was ripped to the gills. Just shows you he trained hard for his sport and the results showed. I believe he could have been a champion in any discipline he chose especially boxing. Dave is and always will be the absolute best bmxer in the world and noone will ever touch him.

BMX is responsible for the greatest memories of my childhood and none of it would have been possible without both of these guys. I never met either of them but owe them both so much. Thank you DMC and Miracle Boy! Rest in peace Dave.
