Hi What I would like to know is how well it fits with a high collar jacket during winter months? It seems everyone wearing it (or at least promoting it) is wearing Tshirts or sweaters ...

This is great! When can I purchase one in the United States? Is there any way I could get into a long term product testing program? I would name my first-born Hövding. You are so much farther ahead of the American curve of intelligence in Sweden. For anyone disagreeing: Donald Trump.
Kudos on great work!
The best thing about the Hövding is that it's a bicycle helmet people will actually wear because it isn't a helmet. I use a helmet all the time, but I hate it.
For the people griping about the one-use design, guess what? ALL helmets are single impact devices. The foam collapses to absorb inertia. The shell holds it in place so your head can smash the foam without rebound. Rebound will kill you. Once the foam is collapsed, it doesn't magically inflate. Helmet dead, maybe you survive.
One problem is the cumbersome arming sequence. How about using Bluetooth to tap into cellphone GPS to automatically arm, or hitting up the people at MOOV to allow accelerometers to lock in on speed and the hip movements of cycling? MOOV is doing amazing things with motion tracking and are an amazing group of people.
I would buy this in a heartbeat as both a cyclist surrounded by idiots in six ton speeding brick walls and as a paramedic that has scraped the outcome of cyclist v soccer mom from the pavement a few times.
The price of admission is high, but do you think the ability to walk and feed yourself is worth the $230 premium over a foam bucket and strap? If you don't, that's cool: Darwin is waiting.
I REALLY love the immobilization of the neck and the chin protection of the bag's deployment design. It addresses two massive weaknesses of traditional helmet designs.
Ever see what the aftermath of punching a street in the curb with your jaw looks like? Horrible, even on a bicycle at moderate speeds.
This is why I wear a downhill helmet that offers full face protection, which looks crazy, but we don't have a lot of bike lanes around Cleveland, and if we do, cars are parked in them AND people don't know how to drive around here. -
found answer. Can you please aim for reusable versions in coming designs?
-
Can one reset a deployed bag to work again? Maybe a new canister or new air in old compressor?
-
How the airbag works, I mean wich point or which action is sensitive for it ?
-
Really good idea, current helmets are ineffective. But govt will make is compulsory, then they will want to register all bikes, charge road user tax, and have speed camera for cyclists, hahah!
-
Would this also be good for motorcycle riders? Or would the speeds be too great for the amount of protection this gives.?
-
sir whether it is available in INDIA if so where and what is the cost?
-
This is better than a helmet surely, as it protects your neck. A broken neck (i.e. paralysis) is same order of magnitude bad as brain trauma. This gets my vote over helmet unless you are riding off road where you may need protection from low branches etc. As for the price it is a flipping bargain, probably about a weeks wages for most people in the west. How many weeks earnings will you miss out on with broken neck or scrambled brain?
-
I'm sorry but, it took four times for it to deploy?
-
Can I buy a replica?
-
Is it reusable because $400 for that is a rip off
-
Why on Earth did you decide to put this shit music on your video ?
Okay, back to this device - I don't like it.
It looks cumbersome and heavy and having something strapped around my neck rather than a helmet placed on my head doesn't make it any better - in fact a LOT worse. How about ventilation ? -
Hello, i was curious if it is waterproof? Seems to me a lot of accidents happen in bad weather.
-
No, but some insurance companies do refund you the money. Reason: less hospital cost because of the airbag.
-
so its not reusable
-
With a price tag of $300 this won't sell. Bike helmets aren't very effect in protecting from concussion, but they do help prevent your skull from being cracked by impact. This is probably much more effective, but the price tag won't allow most people to afford it.
