Comment below and let us know! Clip pedals and flat pedals both have their advantages and disadvantages. Many riders prefer flats for their low cost, simple design and the fact that it's really easy to dab. Clips on the other hand, give you a bit more control and help you to put the power down. It's really down to you though, get out, ride and see what works! Music: Alcendor - Hustlin' ft. Let's say you are cycling across Rwanda in July 2017, a country known as the Land of a Thousand Hills. What pedal and shoe combo would you go for? Any thoughts on a hybrid pedal and shoe set up? Cheers guys. Great videos.

you can't say pedal efficiency is less for flat!!!
not proven true ;) -
What about cages on your pedals. I like them but I am told they are dangerous
-
I use flat pedals .. still afraid to use clips. . I like to bail out when things gets rough..lol
-
î have ridden flat but now i ride clicks.

that song is funny

For commuting on a trail I prefer clips, but for actual mountain biking I prefer flats, mainly so that when I fall off (and I do a lot) I can dive into some shrubbery and not have my bike mangle me.

old timer here but I use clips and (loose) straps for mixed terrain biking. prevents foot coming off pedal but not locked in like clip-ins. whatever you are used to I suppose.

If a guy have used clipless pedals 95% of the time, how is he eligible to claim what is really better? Flatties takes practice as well, and I'm tired of hearing people say flatties are easier to use when they are not. They are actually more challenging to master, in general. Of course it depends on the terrain, but we're not talking about riding down the street now are we.
Most people will tell you you HAVE to choose clipless pedals, and I say bs. Try both and decide on your own what you prefer. Seems like most cyclist have just sticked to clipless, and are really clueless on whether they would like flatties or not. Everytime someone see me use flatties, or I say I do, I get the odd stare like I'm so kind of weirdo. Well, to me flatties simply are more fun and I ride FOR fun with the bonus of getting some exercise. -
Clipless #Shimano #SPD' s. The XT and XTR varients of these pedals are so much better than the entry level caged / SPD hybrids from Shimano.
Double sided is commonplace on most of these pedals and you barely notice them once you are going. Super light and easy to maintain.
In the ridiculous muddy times of the year only would I switch to flats. SPD's are also used by some road riders, so you don't have to buy different shoes and clip/unclip in a different way. After 10-15 years riding i switched to SPD's on recommendation from a highly accomplished rider. It's a great feeling riding when you are rarely tempted to bother putting a foot down, and the sideways unclip on the most common cleat means that if you come off you mostly unclip too. -
does anyone knows flat pedals very economic?

How about a video on why skidding is bad?
You guys skid a lot in your videos, and now all the noobs watching you are doing it too.
Many of my local trails are being torn up and closed due to damage, but this has only happened in the last three to five years of the thirty plus I've been riding mtb. Ride faster and more in control, keep the single track single, don't skid!
Thanks! -
Which brand do you prefer? Santa Cruz or Scott?
-
What bike is that? The blue one, looks like a full downhill bike?
-
i would say if you get used to ride with clips there are no cons, cause i race xc now and when i go downhill riding i use clips and i'm as fast off my clip pedals as i'm off flats
-
NB! To get the full flat pedal experience, you have to learn the dab!
