Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
When we first caught wind of the new breed of 27 and 29 plus-sized bikes, we were as suspicious as any rider. So, we started asking questions: why has this new standard emerged? Is the new wheel size simply a way for industry big wigs to convince consumers to buy new bikes? We visited some of the minds behind these new plus-sized bikes, and have brought you answers in the latest installment of our Blueprint series. Read more: http://bikem.co/K0O9sj

sounds and looks like a "COMPLICATED BULLSHIT MEETING!" WTF
"READ THIS!
IF YOU KICK ASS AND SHRED IT DONT FREAKING MATTER WHAT THAT DAMN SIZE IS-
Got a damn headache listening to that shit -
I don't see why a 150mm spacing wouldn't work in place of boost 148. A wider Q factor? Does moving your foot out 5mm on each side really make that big of a difference? My bottom bracket is 148mm! When I see races being won by these bikes, I'll believe the hype, though I'm toying with the idea of putting 27.5+ tires on my 29er. I hear they don't have much side traction though. Maybe I'll get the Maxxis Shorty 2.5WT and put them on 35mm rims.

scroll down for the ''26 inch brigade'' telling anyone who'll listen they'll never change! which btw can also be translated as ''I'm broke and can't afford anything new so i'll just bitch and complain about any advancement in bike tech''. thank you, I'm here to help!

I really feel sorry for people who spent a ton i mean up to 10grand for the early 26er carbon top tier bikes and now they cant hardly even sell it 3grand on pinkbike. Im still using 26 and my cross is 29. I think just pick the one that will make you happy. If you're unhappy with your 27.5 x 2.4 max just sell it and get the new trend. happiness is top.

I say I ride till the wheels fall off or someone steals it. Bike theft alone is enough to support a new ride every year.
-
If you are tall and need an XL frame, is it better to go for 29er wheels? Or that absolutely doesn't matter?
-
Too much marketing gimmicks. I will stick to my reliable 26".
-
its easy to turn a standard 29er into a 27.5+ mobile. So much more fun. Only downside is less clearance
-
Classic 29's all the way fuck this marketing shit !!!
-
Loved this
-
Vernon; very cool Lewis Black opening routine!
-
Really like this Blueprint series. Hope you start it up again.
-
"Bottom line is we just want to make cool shit" ...... no you just want to make money. When did the MTB turn into fucking computers and cellphones! If your bike is over a year old its outdated . People!! stop buying all this stupid shit!!!
-
Nicely done
-
people in the video talk about radically new things.. yeah adding 6 mm to a rear hub is so fucking radical, it should be done no matter what. this is just bullshit. when they make a rear hub that is frictionless at the cost of it being 6mm wider, then it is radical change.
-
This is why I gave up mountain bike and got on road bikes after spending 3,000 on a29er that feels like diesel .
-
yeah marketing scam to sell new shit. TEXTBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!! Marketing scam, but anytime its new its cool i will never give up my stable of 26's
-
In the end it's all about making money... $$$$.... lot's and lot's of money.

I have no problem with innovation and I absolutely love my Ibis Ripley (142x12). However, I do feel that the industry is being very knee jerk and irresponsible with what they throw out into the market. They claim their ideas are revolutionary and they have to release this brilliant idea to the market, well then why the hell do these revolutionary ideas only last a few years? The reality is, some fuck chop designed a 148 to sell and to maintain his or her job, just like the 142.
You can count on a new standard at the next eyes wide shut meeting too.. Vernon, as much as I like you. You're BS rant at the beginning is as bad as the new Trek/Sram 148 standard.
My only suggestion to consumers is that you too can take advantage of this situation and buy damn near new bikes on eBay.com and pinkbike.com. While people are trying to keep up with the industry, they sale bad ass bikes for thousands off. This approach will hopefully slow the industry down.
