I got a pair of Specialized Benny's. The green matches my Easton Haven 35 bars perfectly lol and they are really nice. the Benny's have 12 pins per side and with my 510 shoes I never have slipped.

So one reason I want to get clipless is for bunny hops... would anyone recommend doing bunny hops while riding clipless

You advertising the BEST, but you focus on Clipless, after pointing out Sam Hill is World Champ on Flats, where is the Flats info, you should made this BEST CLIPLESS Pedals. for Racing .. Yes Clipless will help you pump more speed, but you will never have the Maneuverability you can get on Flats for Technical and Such. also you point out how Cheap a Pedal is, but don't point out the special Shoes you also have to buy with Clipless.

Been out of MTB for about 8 years, the last pedals were the heavy red Shimano platform SPD, 1st gen Egg Beaters, Time Atac Carbon in yellow and Frogg Speedplay. The joy of rebuilding my and updating my bike that has sat idle where in the military. Last SPD shoe... dating myself here Specialized Team shoe silver, red & blue still have them. Looking at the Shimano platforms but we shall see.

For beginners like myself who are new to clipless, the main concern would be the ease of entry and exit. With the Shimano adjustability where I can set it to the easiest to unclip, along with the larger platform on the Shimano Trail line of pedals, these two things give the confidence that I need to learn the clipless format. Here in the arid west, mud is simply not an issue. Hence my two cents towards the Shimano brand.

so bikes these days seem to come with temporary pedals that last a week, and the replacement pedals i see dont come with reflectors, i need those i ride in traffic, so you have to buy them separately??

There are far more then just two vendors that make great pedals, Spank, Race face, NS Bikes, Xpedo, Vp components, Hope , I suggest you shop around and find something that works for you and the style of riding you do this video seems very bias to me
