Illuminating review - I'd never buy a trek or specialized because of all the problems i've heard about - but that's disappointing to hear about cannondale... I have loved their frames since the first mid-'80s fat-tubes, and the Lefty shock is just genius... That said, i'd still rather have a Lefty on my Breezer, or on a BMC or Chumba or Canfield, though... there's so many great hardtail 29er frames out there and companies that really do stand behind their product.

Happy with my marin muirwoods 29er

I can vouch for that Hardrock. The brakes are high maintenence, the gears are...well they're there, I popped a crank when I was first starting out and I had like 2watts max power output, but hey it looks good and its something. Although I've probably spent more money on replacement parts than if I'd bought a high end bike.

Cannondale is my only bike choice. I bought a 2006 F800 with lefty in 2006 and after 7 years and just over 35,000 miles on the road it developed a fatigue crack by the bottom bracket. I knew it wasn't Cannondale's fault but because I was short on cash for a new frame I had nothing to lose by trying a warranty claim. 6 days after I went to the bike shop where I bought it I got a call saying my 2013 F26 F3 frame with BB 30 was in and ready to pick up. Cannondale totally has me as a lifetime customer now plus they have a good trade in program for frames and forks.

Do the same review with road bikes. I like your sense!!

My 2014 trek fuel ex 7 29er,the bolt on the EVO link was overtightened, so I had to use the warm water and allen key on freezer trick. saddles is a personal thing. but I guess with most big brands there will be issues like this. the Shimano M552 cranks failed on both 2014 fuel ex 7 29er,but they flexed too much for me,so I needed to upgrade anyway,Upgraded to Race Face Turbine Cinch crankset, and it does not flex. it had triple chainrings at the front as stock, which was overkill for a trail bike.

idk, those reviews sound like they come from a bunch of noobs that don't know jack about bikes or how to maintain them

The Trek Wahoo got a Sr suntour xct v3 fork its absolute garbage.
Plastic parts, like adjsutment knobs, caps so if this fails the coil will jump out.
I had a similar fork on a 2010 trek 3900
I had 2011 SR Suntour XCM v3 fork too later it was garbage, the seals worn out in few weeks.
Upgrading cheap beginner bieks will be quite expensive t, the only stock parts on my 6300 are the disc rotors and seatpost, clamp. the rockshox tora sl fork had plastic parts that failed, preload adjustment screw inside the fork.
If you want cheap bike, build it your self! mix used parts with parts on sale, and you got a cheap good bike. -
I always focus on negative reviews first, they are most honest. The people who give 4-5 stars usually either haven't tried the product yet (Giving stars for shipping, pointless) or want to justify their buy. Last point is especially tricky. Everyone wants to justify their buy and think they didn't just waste their money. Then there is the first time buyers who have nothing to compare against.
Off-topic: Someone was curious about Shimano WH-R501 in some earlier video of CannonDany's.
I've had them for 4-5 months, a definite NO BUY. Front wheel makes noise constantly, has been there since the start. But only when I ride. If I lift up front wheel and spin, it is silent.
Rear cassette is moving a lot. Tightening the cassette more did nothing. Really poor quality stuff. Chain sometimes jumps a little when I put down some extra power on pedals. I am far FAR from putting down 1000+ watts.
If I spin the front wheel, it doesn't spin for more than 30 secs. -
