2017 Trek Fuel EX Carbon 29er Test Ride & Review
Fahrräder, Tests, online, Rezensionen, Bewertungen
If you've loved the Trek Fuel EX of old, the newly redesigned 2017 will not disappoint! With a long history of being a trail capable cross country bike the 2017 Fuel EX has blurred the lines between XC and Trail in a major way! This is the most capable Fuel EX ever and I really enjoyed my ride on the 9.7 carbon 29er. It has incredible climbing ability and just accelerates with every stroke of the peddles. Descending on this bike is confidence inspiring and handles the high speed chatter better than any previous Fuel EX before it. I think this is a bike mountain bikers have been waiting for and really speaks to what we've wanted for so long.... short travel 29er with a more slack head angle! It's a great time to be a mountain biker! I like how you ride the same trail for each test. Helps to standardize the test.

Really like your review. Love the looks and geomtery of the new Fuel EX: Just a question, ¿did you try turning the mino link nut? and if so, ¿what difference did it make in terms of riding?. Keep up the good job! Will be watching your other reviews.

I know everyone is different but this 2017 Trek Fuel EX is the first 29er I feel absolutely comfortable in. Trek has spent a great deal of research optimizing 29er geometry & it shows. This bike is a blast & it gobbles up terrain like a mad Pacman while keeping you fresh. The fit, finish, technology, & suspension are outstanding.

Cool bike but if I wanted a 130mm 29er it would be the whyte t130s all the way
-
Can it hang with the Hightower or the Switchblade is the question.

Where do you get your bikes to test ride. I assume we live close to each other as i ride these trails all the time. I am looking to test out some of these bikes.

what gimbal are you using on your chest?

Don't know if you are focused on american audience, when doing your reviews, but you would get a lot of great MTB guys out here if you could maybe spend some time on lower budget trail bikes. Maybe cheaper models of Giant Trance (like 3 and 4)? Maybe some cheaper fullsus bikes of Cube, Canyon or Scott. Also, there are lots of budget bikes in Merida lineup or some of East Europe manufacturers, like NS Bikes, Kellys or Kross - they make decent and interesting stuff.
I really like your videos, keep them comming and have fun doing this :) -

You're going to hate this comment but if you want to do these tests right you've gotta run control tires (meaning the same) and exact pressures. As I'm sure you know tires can totally make or break a bike so taking them out of the equation is essential. Total pain in the ass but there it is. You can argue the same about bar width and stem length but that can be countered by saying that's what the manufacturer has speced to complement the reach length etc. A BB measurement would also be really nice to include in the review (with the control tires) as manufacturers are often all over the place with that measurement. Well done for riding the bikes on the same loop. Essential.

no Christmas card from trek for you this year!
-
it will be better if you include every price tag of the bike dude!!

I've had the 9.8 for about 2 months. Insane solid bike. 20+ bikes since 1992. This is the future of aggressive XC and can handle the vast majority of what most riders are able to throw at it!

Awesome videos! Keep up the great work!
